The hotel is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in the historic town of Onancock at 7 North Street, just four blocks from the deep water harbor on
Onancock Creek.
The building was created in 1907 as the White Hotel. When the present owners (Charlotte Heath & Gary Cochran) purchased the building, the two upstairs floors were serving as apartments and the downstairs was a vacant retail space. Today, there is a full service bar, intimate dining room, first floor lobby, and an art gallery in addition to eight well appointed guest rooms.
The award winning restaurant features the cuisine of Chef Ted Cathey which is prepared using many Eastern Shore products. It is with great pride that we support local watermen, farmers, and area businesses. Because much of our fare is made from locally available ingredients, the menu changes frequently, often daily. Entrée choices normally include meat, fish, fowl, and a vegetarian selection. Entree prices range from $15 to $35. Everything is house-made, including the ice cream! Our bar is well stocked, and the extensive wine list offers selections from around the world.

The Next Door Gallery which is adjacent to the hotel exhibits the artwork of the owner Charlotte Heath. Charlotte’s botanical watercolors have been exhibited in many galleries across the country, from New York to Oregon. All of the art is available for purchase, including the pieces throughout the hotel.
“Dinner in the Gallery” is available by prior arrangement for groups up to 25 for a nominal extra fee. You will dine in the privacy of Charlotte’s art gallery after regular business hours.

Driving Directions
Exit Salisbury on Ocean Hwy/US-13 South toward Norfolk. Continue for approximately 55 miles to Onley, Virginia. At the Onley traffic light, turn right onto VA-179 between the Burger King and Fresh Pride grocery. The road sign indicates the town of ONANCOCK. Proceed 2.0 miles and turn right onto NORTH ST. just past the Roseland Theater on the left and Stella’s Restaurant on the right. The hotel is on the left at No. 7, the white painted brick 3-story building with a leaf-green storefront.
Travel North on US-13 North toward the CHESAPEAKE BAY/BRIDGE—TUNNEL. Continue across the BRIDGE—TUNNEL toward Salisbury, MD for about 65 miles to Onley, Virginia. At the Onley traffic light, turn left onto VA-179 between the Burger King and Fresh Pride grocery, The road sign indicates the town of ONANCOCK.
